The GRAVITYMASTER series has replenished with Casio G-SHOCK GPW-2000 – watches presented at Baselworld-2017 and worthy of praise. The novelties took the best from the previous GPW-1000 series – powered by the Tough Solar solar panel, triple protection against the effects of gravitational, centrifugal and vibrational forces, a GPS sensor, Multi Band 6 radio frequency adjustment technology. At the same time, the GPW-2000 received synchronization with smartphone via Bluetooth®, which means that management and configuration can be carried out in the most difficult conditions.
The brutal Casio G-SHOCK GPW-2000-1A model is positioned as a watch for aviators, a watch for long-distance climbers , so the functional design matches its purpose. The high-tech mechanism is enclosed in a strong, fairly large plastic case and is closed by a stainless steel lid, which is why it is protected from shock and shaking.
In addition, the internal module is covered with alpha gel, which protects the parts from vibration, so even a difficult flight or a trip over rough terrain will not affect the operation of the GPW-2000-1A. A neat metal bezel and powerful body protrusions protect the crown and buttons from breakage.
The latter are made of steel, they are quite wide, so they are convenient when working with gloves. The external elements are airtight – dust and moisture are excluded, which allows you to use the watch in adverse weather conditions.
High-strength plastic is an ideal material for the wrist strap of the “universal” model, such as the G-SHOCK GPW-2000-1A watch. It is lightweight, does not absorb water, is tear resistant, and also does not require complicated care – excellent characteristics for a premium watch strap.
But the Japanese developers went further – to enhance the strength, they equipped it with a carbon insert on the inside. This solution not only contributes to the convenience of constantly wearing watches, but also extends the life of the strap. Using a metal buckle and two rows of holes, the GPW-2000-1A is securely fixed to the wrist or sleeve of the jacket.
What should be the instruments in the cockpit? Of course, accurate, reliable and convenient. Based on this idea, Casio engineers created the quartz dial GPW-2000-1A. It is deepened in the case and covered with a durable, damage-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating – the indicators will be read even in bright sunshine.
Thanks to the competent arrangement of the elements, as well as their color allocation, it is not difficult to obtain the necessary information. Large bright hands and voluminous hour indexes in the form of steps stand out against the dark background of the dial and are visible from almost any angle. The round screen with a 24-hour hand and the world time screen have a special “radial processing” of surfaces, so the data is also easy to read. Above the mark corresponding to the number 6, there is an area for switching modes, on the left side of the dial is a dial of indicators, in the right is the date aperture.
The impact-resistant Casio GPW-2000-1A watch is designed for use in the dark, therefore, it is equipped with a dual backlight system. When you press the right side button of the case, two LEDs light up, which illuminate the main and additional dials. During the sounding of any signals, the backlight automatically turns off so as not to distract the attention of the owner from a possible dangerous situation. And of course, Japanese engineers could not help using Neobrit – the pride of Casio. This is the light-accumulating composition with which the hands and large hour indexes GPW-2000-1A are covered, including the number 12. Being in the light, such elements accumulate energy, therefore they are clearly visible in the dark.
The innovative Casio G-SHOCK GPW-2000 rightfully claims to be the leader of the series. The combination of three time correction systems – Multi Band 6 radio synchronization, GPS and Bluetooth® technology – ensures accuracy anywhere in the world. Using the latter, you can not only set the time, but also track the route on the map in your smartphone, which will delight travelers.
Protection against vibrations, shaking, gravitational forces, magnetic fields allows you to use the clock in the sky and on the ground, for example, when passing complex routes. The model’s water resistance is 200 WR, which means that you can swim without taking the watch off your wrist. World clock, stopwatch, timer, alarm clock, calendar – functions without which it is difficult to imagine a Casio watch. We recommend that you buy the GPW-2000-1A not only for tourists, but also for those whose work is connected with the calculation of time, frequent trips around the world. GPW-2000 instruction in Russian will help to deal with the clock settings.
